Right next to the Prophet’s Mosque (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi) lies the cemetery of Jannat al-Baqi, where many prominent Companions of the Prophet (Sahaba) and pious servants of Allah are buried. Among those interred are Caliph Uthman (Hazrat Usman), the Prophet’s daughters Fatimah, Zaynab, Ruqayyah, and Umm Kulthum, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and the Prophet’s other wives, the Prophet’s son Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him) who passed away in infancy, the Prophet’s uncles and aunts, Fatimah bint Asad, the mother of Hazrat Ali, and many other Companions and devout servants of Allah.
Additionally, some pilgrims who passed away while performing Hajj or Umrah have also been buried in Jannat al-Baqi.
