Jabal al-Thawr is the mountain where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) hid from the Quraysh during their journey from Mecca to Medina. It is located south of the Haram in Mecca. The Prophet and Abu Bakr stayed here for three days.
The Quraysh, who were pursuing them, managed to reach the entrance of the cave, causing great concern for Abu Bakr. The Prophet (peace be upon him) reassured him, saying: “Do not worry; Allah is with us.” By Allah’s protection, a spider wove a web across the entrance of the cave, and pigeons built nests there. Seeing this, the Quraysh assumed that no one could be inside and left.
