Mount Uhud, located about 5 km from Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, is the site of the Battle of Uhud, where the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) uncle, Hamzah ibn Abdulmuttalib, along with 70 Companions, were martyred.
During this battle, which took place in the 3rd year of Hijrah, the Prophet’s blessed tooth was broken and his noble face was wounded.
Our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) used to visit the Uhud Martyrs’ Cemetery at the foot of Mount Uhud several times each year and greet the martyrs.
